USB-C and USB-A card reader for SD and microSD

This external reader connects to USB-C or USB-A ports on laptops, tablets, smartphones and desktops. It accepts full-size SD and microSD cards including SDHC, SDXC and MMC formats. The compact black housing measures .40" x .80" x 3.10" and requires no driver installation.

Dual USB 3.0 interface at 5 Gbps

The device provides one USB Type-C connector with 24 pins and one USB 3.1 Type-A connector operating at Gen 1 speed. Both interfaces support data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 2.0 hosts. Thunderbolt 3 ports also accept the USB-C plug.

Sustained transfers limited by card speed

Under continuous load the reader delivers whatever throughput the inserted SD or microSD card can sustain. The USB 3.0 link does not bottleneck typical UHS-I media, but UHS-II or faster cards will not reach their peak rates through this 5 Gbps interface. Heat buildup is negligible in the small enclosure.
