The StarTech SDOCK2U33EB accepts two 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA III hard drives or solid-state drives and connects them to a host computer through USB 3.0 or eSATA. It is built for technicians and power users who need to swap drives quickly for backup, cloning or data recovery tasks. The JMicron JMS562 chipset handles the SATA 6 Gbps interface and UASP support for faster transfers on compatible systems.

Suits users who hot-swap SATA drives via USB 3.0

Ideal for anyone who regularly moves 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA drives between a dock and a laptop or desktop equipped with USB 3.0 or eSATA ports. Not suited for workflows that require more than two drive bays simultaneously, nor for drives that use interfaces other than SATA. The enclosure operates with Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS without additional drivers.

Two-bay limit with 4 TB per bay maximum

Each bay supports a single SATA drive up to 4 TB, giving a total of two drives at once. This capacity ceiling is the deciding factor: if your drives exceed 4 TB or you need three or more bays in one unit, this dock will not meet the requirement.
