USB-C 10 Gbps SATA adapter

This USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable connects a 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD directly to a USB-C port on a laptop or desktop. It supports SATA I, II and III drives and uses the ASMedia ASM1351 chipset with UASP for improved transfer efficiency. The adapter is bus powered so no external supply is needed. It suits technicians and mobile users who need quick, portable access to bare 2.5" drives.

Replaces docks and enclosures

Unlike bulky drive docks or full enclosures, this 0.06 lb cable adds no extra housing and fits in a laptop bag. The jump is worth it when you swap drives frequently or need to recover data from multiple 2.5" SATA units without mounting hardware. It does not serve 3.5" drives or M.2 devices, and it cannot power a drive that exceeds the host port's current limit.

Limited to 2.5" SATA and USB-C host

The interface tops out at 10 Gbps, so the fastest SATA SSDs will hit the bus ceiling rather than their own media limit. Cable length is fixed at the moulded 0.20" x 1.70" x 1.80" dongle form factor, so reach is minimal and strain relief depends on the host port. No external power input exists, so drives requiring more than the USB-C port can deliver will not spin up.
