Installation notes

The board uses eight 288-pin DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC DIMM slots for up to 1 TB of memory; modules must be registered ECC or the system will not post. Three PCIe 3.0 x16 and three PCIe 3.0 x8 slots share bandwidth with the single CPU, so populating every slot reduces each link to x8 or lower.

Interface limits

Eight SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports and eight SAS3 12 Gbps ports connect through a Broadcom 3008 controller that supports RAID 0, 1 and 10 only. Dual Intel I210 controllers provide two 1 Gbps Ethernet links with no 10 GbE option on this board. The Aspeed AST2500 BMC handles remote management but offers no video acceleration for graphical workloads.
