The card uses an ASM3142 controller to bridge PCIe Gen3 x2 bandwidth to the four downstream ports.

Fits x4, x8 or x16 slots with no extra power

Installation requires a free PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot; x1 and x2 slots are not compatible. A self-powered IC draws what it needs from the slot itself, so no auxiliary power cable or external adapter is required. Each port supplies up to 15 W for bus-powered devices and includes over-current protection for safe hot-plug operation.

Sustained 10 Gbps throughput per port

The controller complies with the USB 3.1 Gen 2 specification and the PCI Express 3.0 base specification, delivering up to 10 Gbps per port under continuous load. Spread-spectrum clocking and PCIe link power management keep latency low during long transfers.
