License Pack for Four Cameras

The Synology CLP4 adds four IP camera licenses to a Surveillance Station installation. It is intended for administrators who need to expand camera coverage beyond the two licenses included with each DiskStation. The single license key is applied through the Surveillance Station interface and activates the additional channels immediately. No hardware installation is required.

Upgrade From the Default Two-Camera Limit

Every DiskStation ships with two free camera licenses. This pack is the step up when a site requires more than two active feeds, such as a small office, retail floor or home perimeter. The jump is worth it as soon as a third or fourth camera is deployed, because each extra device would otherwise be blocked by the licensing ceiling. Check the specific DiskStation model specifications first to confirm the maximum number of cameras that hardware can support.

Capacity for Four Additional Streams

One CLP4 code unlocks capacity for four standard IP cameras or four streams from compatible panoramic and multi-lens devices. Fixed-lens multi-lens cameras that transmit multiple streams simultaneously will consume one license per stream, so a single quad-stream unit could use the entire pack. Analog cameras connected through a video server also count against this allowance. Buyers planning large panoramic deployments or many multi-stream units will need additional packs.
