Network connectivity relies on two onboard 10GbE RJ-45 ports plus a dedicated 1GbE management link, so throughput tops out at 10GbE unless a PCIe Gen4 x8 card adds faster interfaces. The chassis holds only four drives internally; reaching the 16-drive maximum requires a compatible Synology expansion unit, and the two M.2 slots are already occupied by the installed cache SSDs.

48TB Raw with NVMe Acceleration

The included 48TB of enterprise HDD storage handles large file repositories, backup targets and virtual-machine datastores, while the 1.6TB NVMe read-write cache absorbs bursty metadata and small-block I/O.
