48TB Raw Capacity and 64GB Memory Ceiling

The included drives deliver 48TB of raw storage in a four-bay layout, leaving no empty bays for immediate expansion without a separate Synology expansion unit. Memory currently sits at 16GB and can be increased to 64GB using compatible DDR4 RDIMMs, providing headroom for additional virtual machines or heavier caching workloads. Drive bays are fully populated, so capacity growth requires external units.

Dual 10GbE Ports and PCIe Gen4 Expansion

Network connectivity relies on two 10GbE RJ-45 ports supplied by an installed PCIe adapter plus a dedicated 1GbE management port. The single PCIe Gen4 x8 slot is occupied by that adapter, so further high-speed networking or HBA cards cannot be added unless the 10GbE card is removed. Two M.2 NVMe slots are available internally for read-write cache acceleration without using drive bays.
