An Intel Xeon D-1726 six-core processor handles virtualization, file sharing, backup and surveillance workloads in a 1U form factor. Web-based DSM management provides snapshot, replication and hybrid-cloud tools out of the box.

Dual 10GbE plus PCIe Gen4 expansion

Two 10GbE RJ-45 ports and a dedicated 1GbE management link connect directly to high-speed switches without extra cards. Front-access drive bays support hot-swap replacement while dual M.2 NVMe slots and a PCIe Gen4 x8 slot remain free for cache or networking upgrades. Redundant C13/C14 power cords and a 5–35 °C operating range suit standard rack environments.

Scales to 16 bays with expansion unit

The platform grows by attaching a compatible Synology expansion unit, raising maximum drive count to 16 for capacity-heavy archives.
