The Synology RS2421RP+ is a 12-bay 2U rackmount NAS powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core 2.2 GHz processor with 4 GB DDR4 memory expandable to 32 GB. It provides high read/write performance with RAID for small business and remote office file management, sharing and backup. Redundant power supplies are included. Drives are not included.

Installation and common issues

Mount the 2U chassis in a standard rack and populate up to twelve 3.5" or 2.5" SATA drives in the hot-swap bays. The single PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot accepts compatible expansion cards for SSD cache or faster networking. Only Synology SAT5200 2.5" or SNV3400/3500 M.2 SSDs sold separately can be used for SSD cache; other M.2 drives will not function in that role.
