It ships fully assembled and tested with four 12TB Synology Plus drives providing 48TB of raw capacity. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports support Link Aggregation for bandwidth scaling and automatic failover.

3.2TB Synology Enterprise SSD cache for HDD

Two 1.6TB Synology Enterprise cache SSDs are installed to accelerate read and write IOPS on the 3.5-inch SATA hard drive array. The cache sits in front of the mechanical drives to lower latency for random access workloads. This configuration targets environments where HDD capacity is required but response time must remain consistent for virtualisation or database tasks.

PCIe Gen3 slot and RX426 expansion for future growth

A single PCIe Gen3 expansion slot accepts compatible 10GbE, 25GbE or M.2 SSD adapters to upgrade connectivity or add flash tiers. One Synology RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count to eight and scale raw capacity toward 192TB using supported 24TB drives.
