It arrives fully assembled and tested with 16GB DDR4 RAM, 3.2TB of enterprise cache across two 1.6TB modules, and four 12TB Synology Plus NAS drives providing 48TB of raw storage. Four integrated 1GbE ports support Link Aggregation for bandwidth scaling and automatic failover.

The four hot-swappable bays accept compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. One Synology RX426 expansion unit can be connected to increase the system to eight drive bays and up to 192TB of raw storage using supported 24TB drives. A PCIe Gen3 slot provides flexibility for compatible 10GbE or 25GbE network adapters, an M.2 SSD adapter, or a combined M.2 SSD and 10GbE adapter.
