It ships fully assembled with four 16TB Synology Plus drives providing 64TB of raw storage, 4GB of DDR4 memory, and a 3.2TB cache using two 1.6TB enterprise SSDs. The quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor runs at 2.2 GHz to handle file serving and data management tasks.

Four-Bay Chassis With Redundant Power

The 4-bay chassis supports hot-swappable 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports enable Link Aggregation for higher throughput, load balancing, and automatic failover. Redundant power supplies operate on 100-240 VAC at 50/60Hz. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a PCIe Gen3 slot allow adding 10GbE or 25GbE adapters, an M.2 SSD adapter, or a combined M.2 and 10GbE card.

Expansion And Environmental Limits

One Synology RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count to eight and raise raw capacity to 192TB using supported 24TB drives. The system operates between 0°C and 35°C with 5-95% relative humidity. Sequential read and write performance exceeds 2,000 and 1,300 MB/s respectively in the vendor's tested configuration. Management is handled through a web-based interface with DHCP client support.
