1U rackmount NAS for edge and branch offices

The Synology RS826RP+ is a compact 1U rackmount NAS built for edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads. A quad-core, eight-thread AMD Ryzen V1500B processor at 2.2 GHz drives sequential read and write speeds above 2,000 and 1,300 MB/s in the tested configuration. Four integrated 1GbE ports support Link Aggregation for bandwidth scaling, load balancing and automatic network failover.

Four 1GbE ports and single PCIe Gen3 slot

Network throughput is bounded by four 1GbE RJ-45 ports; aggregated links can combine them but cannot exceed the physical 1 Gb/s per port limit. A single PCIe Gen3 expansion slot accepts one compatible 10GbE or 25GbE adapter, an M.2 SSD adapter or a combined M.2 and 10GbE card, so only one high-speed add-in can be used at a time. Expansion beyond the internal bays requires one Synology RX426 unit connected via the dedicated expansion port.

48 TB raw capacity with 800 GB cache headroom

Four pre-installed 12 TB Synology Plus drives provide 48 TB of raw storage, while two 400 GB enterprise SSDs deliver 800 GB of read-write cache to accelerate HDD arrays. The chassis supports one RX426 expansion unit, raising the bay count to eight and the raw capacity ceiling to 192 TB with supported 24 TB drives. Without the expansion unit the system is limited to the four internal bays and their maximum drive size.
