The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built for edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads. It arrives fully assembled with four 8 TB Synology Plus drives, 800 GB of enterprise cache and 4 GB of DDR4 memory. A quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor at 2.2 GHz drives sequential reads above 2,000 MB/s and writes above 1,300 MB/s.

Slide-in drives and optional expansion

Four hot-swappable bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs for tool-free installation. A single RX426 expansion unit can be attached to double the bay count. The PCIe Gen3 slot accepts a 10 GbE or 25 GbE adapter, an M.2 SSD adapter or a combined M.2 and 10 GbE card, though compatibility must be checked before purchase.

32 TB raw capacity with 192 TB ceiling

The included drives provide 32 TB of raw storage out of the box. With the expansion unit and supported 24 TB drives the system scales to 192 TB raw. Four 1 GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation for bandwidth and failover. Workloads that need 10 GbE or 25 GbE connectivity require an add-in card, and the 4 GB of soldered memory cannot be increased.
