The unit arrives fully assembled and tested with four 16TB Synology Plus drives providing 64TB of raw capacity.

Hot-Swappable Bays and Expansion Slot

Four hot-swappable drive bays accept compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs for straightforward drive replacement. Capacity can be extended by attaching one Synology RX426 expansion unit to reach eight bays and up to 192 TB of raw storage. A PCIe Gen3 slot allows adding 10GbE or 25GbE adapters, an M.2 SSD adapter, or a combined M.2 and 10GbE card.

Sustained Throughput with Redundant Power

The system delivers sequential read and write performance exceeding 2,000 MB/s and 1,300 MB/s respectively under tested configuration. Four integrated 1GbE ports support Link Aggregation for higher bandwidth, load balancing, and automatic network failover during continuous operation.
