Three-unit mesh system

The TP-Link Deco X20 three-pack delivers Wi-Fi 6 across 5,800 sq. ft. using three identical router units. Each node runs a Qualcomm 1 GHz quad-core CPU with four internal antennas and supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation. The system targets households that want a single network name throughout every room without running cables between floors.

One Gigabit WAN and LAN per node

Every Deco unit provides one 10/100/1000M WAN port and one 10/100/1000M LAN port for wired backhaul or device connections. Optional Ethernet backhaul frees wireless bandwidth for clients while the mesh handles automatic path selection and self-healing. SPI firewall, WPA3 encryption and HomeShield parental controls secure traffic without extra hardware.

Replaces standalone routers and extenders

The kit upgrades homes still using a single router plus plug-in repeaters that create separate network names. The jump is worthwhile when dead zones persist despite extender placement or when many simultaneous devices overwhelm older 802.11ac gear. It does not suit buyers who need multi-gig WAN speeds or more than one wired LAN port per unit.
