Dual-lens 2K indoor/outdoor camera

The Tapo C246D combines a fixed 2K lens with a 125° field of view and a separate pan/tilt 2K lens with 6mm zoom. It monitors two areas simultaneously and uses AI detection for people, pets, vehicles and baby cries. The IP65-rated housing withstands rain, dust and temperatures from -4°F to 122°F. Power runs on 100-240V AC at 50/60 Hz.

Wireless setup with microSD storage

Connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at up to 54 Mbps using WEP 64/128-bit security. Mount on a wall, ceiling, desk or rod in any orientation. Local recording stores up to 512 GB on a microSD card sold separately; a 30-day cloud trial is also offered. No wiring beyond the power adapter is required for basic operation.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi range and storage limits

The single-band 2.4 GHz radio may struggle through thick walls or heavy interference compared to 5 GHz alternatives. Pan/tilt mechanics cover 360° horizontal and 152° vertical movement, but the fixed lens view remains static. MicroSD cards above 512 GB are not supported, and continuous recording fills capacity quickly at 2K resolution.
