Compact Security Gateway

The Ubiquiti USG is a desktop or wall-mountable router with three Gigabit Ethernet ports and a 12 V DC power adapter. It runs silently without fans and is managed through the UniFi Controller v4.x for centralised configuration and secure off-site monitoring.

Throughput and Port Limits

The unit processes 1 million packets per second for 64-byte frames and sustains a 3 Gbps total line rate for packets of 512 bytes or larger. Two LAN ports and one WAN port provide the only wired interfaces; there is no USB, Powerline, Token Ring or serial V.35 connection available.

Replaces Basic Consumer Routers

It upgrades from simple SOHO routers that lack deep packet inspection, VLAN support or centralised multi-site management. The jump is worth it when you need CLI access for advanced policies and a fanless design for quiet operation in a home or small office.
