It targets integrators building POS, ATM or industrial automation equipment that must talk to legacy serial peripherals such as modems, printers or scanners. The card operates from -40 to 85 °C, suiting harsh environments.

Capacity and headroom

Each port delivers 300 bps to 921.6 kbps with selectable data, stop and parity bits plus RTS/CTS and XON/XOFF flow control. Four independent channels handle concurrent sessions, but the single-lane Mini PCI Express link and 921.6 kbps ceiling limit aggregate throughput for high-speed multi-drop networks.

Mini PCI Express constraints

The x1 Gen 1 interface caps sustained bandwidth, so the card cannot saturate all four ports at maximum rate simultaneously. Legacy OS support ends at Windows 7 and Linux 2.6.x; modern kernels or Windows 10 and newer are not covered by the supplied driver matrix.
