3.5" SATA USB 3.0 enclosure

The Vantec NST-328S3-BK converts an internal 3.5" SATA hard drive or SSD into an external USB storage device. It accepts drives up to 16TB and connects via USB Type B. The aluminum and plastic housing includes a stand for stable desktop placement. No driver installation is required on supported Windows and OS X systems.

Upgrade from USB 2.0 enclosures

This unit replaces older USB 2.0 or 1.1 enclosures by adding SuperSpeed USB 3.0 transfer rates up to 5Gbps. The jump is worthwhile when moving large media libraries or system backups where the higher bandwidth reduces wait time. UASP support further improves throughput on compatible hosts. It remains backward compatible with legacy USB ports.

Up to 16TB capacity headroom

The enclosure handles high-capacity 3.5" SATA III, II or I drives comfortably for bulk storage and archival tasks. It draws power from the included external supply, so the host port is not burdened. The 800mm cable limits placement distance from the computer. Builders needing 2.5" drive support or multiple bays should look elsewhere.
