Ryzen 9 7900X desktop

The Velztorm Armix is a new gaming desktop built around a 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor with 64 MB L3 cache. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory and a 4 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. A GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR6 provides the visual output. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Upgrade from entry systems

This configuration replaces a basic office tower or an older pre-built that relies on integrated graphics and a mechanical drive. The jump is worth it when the workload needs 24 processing threads, high-speed DDR5 bandwidth and a dedicated GPU for 1440p gaming or GPU-accelerated creative tasks.

PCIe 4.0 GPU and storage limits

The RTX 3070 operates on a PCIe 4.0 x16 link and the 4 TB SSD uses a PCIe 4.0 NVMe interface. Both components will run at reduced throughput if installed in a platform limited to PCIe 3.0. The 1000 W power supply supports the current build; future GPU upgrades that draw significantly more power would require a higher-capacity unit.
