The WaveShare 5inch 800x480 Resistive Touch Portable Monitor (G) is a small HDMI screen built for hobbyists and developers who need a secondary display for single-board computers. It connects directly to Raspberry Pi models, Banana Pi or BeagleBone Black without extra adapters. The resistive touch layer allows single-point input for simple control tasks.

800x480 Resolution and Touch Limits

The panel shows an 800 by 480 image that is adequate for command-line work, lightweight GUIs or retro gaming interfaces. Text remains readable at this scale but dense desktop layouts will feel cramped. Resistive touch registers one contact point and requires firm pressure, so multi-finger gestures and light taps are not supported.

Driver-Free OS Compatibility

On Raspberry Pi the monitor works with Raspbian, Ubuntu, Kali, Retropie and Windows 10 IoT without installing drivers. As a general PC display it supports Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7 with single-touch input out of the box. Game consoles such as Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch can also output video to the screen.
