It suits technicians recovering data from legacy drives and users archiving files from older storage devices. The dual-head IDE connector handles both 40-pin and 44-pin interfaces alongside a SATA II connector. Laptop drives without external power are not supported by this adapter.

USB 3.0 with UASP Support

Data transfers reach 5 Gbps through the USB 3.0 interface with UASP protocol enabled. The adapter remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. UASP reduces processor overhead by 40 percent compared with standard USB 3.0 bulk endpoints. Maximum throughput depends on the connected drive’s own sustained read and write limits.

Sustained Transfer Behaviour

An on-off switch cuts power to the drive between sessions to protect ageing mechanisms during long copy jobs. LED indicators display power and activity status without software monitoring.
