Dual-Port 25G OCP 3.0 Adapter

The C&N ST7400-E810 25G is a dual-port network interface card built around the Intel E810 controller and compliant with the OCP 3.0 small form factor specification. It connects through a PCI Express 4.0 x8 bus and provides two SFP28 ports operating at 25 Gb/s, with fallback to 10 Gb/s and 1 Gb/s speeds. The card includes both low-profile and full-height brackets for installation in standard or space-constrained servers.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The Intel E810 controller supports concurrency for 256 non-posted requests, enabling consistent throughput for virtualised workloads such as NFV, storage and HPC-AI. Hardware offloads including TCP/UDP segmentation, SR-IOV with up to 256 virtual functions and 768 virtual station interfaces reduce CPU overhead during prolonged traffic. RDMA over iWARP and RoCE v2 plus DPDK support further accelerate data-path processing under continuous demand.

Interface Practical Limits

The PCI Express 4.0 x8 electrical interface caps bidirectional bandwidth at the bus level, so aggregate throughput cannot exceed the lane budget even though each SFP28 port is rated for 25 Gb/s. The adapter remains backward compatible with PCI Express 3.0 slots, but doing so halves the available bus bandwidth and may restrict simultaneous line-rate operation on both ports. Buyers needing more than two 25 Gb/s links or a different form factor must select another adapter.
