The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4 GHz with 24 GB of DDR4 memory in a 1U chassis. Eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays

The front panel accepts up to eight 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives that can be swapped without shutting down the system. A 550 W redundant power supply is installed and a second unit can be added for full redundancy. Two PCIe 3.0 slots provide room for additional network or accelerator cards. Four 1 GbE ports and iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller handle remote management out of the box.

Upgrade from older 1U platforms

The R430 replaces earlier 1U servers that max out at lower memory capacities or lack 12 Gbps RAID performance.
