Dual-socket Xeon Gold server for dense storage

The Dell PowerEdge R740 chassis holds eight 3.5-inch drive bays and ships with two Xeon Gold 5120 processors running at 2.2 GHz, each with 14 cores and 19.25 MB cache. 384 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory is installed across the 24 DIMM slots. A PERC H730P RAID controller manages the SATA backplane, and a 10 GbE 562T dual-port adapter handles network traffic.

Redundant 750 W supplies

Two R720 750 W power supplies share the load, so normal operation continues if one unit fails. The integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise licence gives full out-of-band control over power, firmware updates and console redirection without needing a local keyboard or monitor. Firmware is updated to the latest stable release before dispatch and the system passes a full burn-in test.

Rack-mount chassis with rail kit option and no

The 36 by 24 by 10 inch, 40-pound rack enclosure fits standard 19-inch cabinets and rails are available on request. Eight hot-plug 3.5-inch bays are cabled to the PERC H730P, but no drives are installed so you can populate them with the capacity and redundancy level your workload requires. Integrated graphics provide basic video output for initial setup.
