It targets organisations that need dense local capacity for backup, archive or software-defined storage workloads. No drives are installed so you populate the bays with the exact SATA disks your capacity plan requires.

Installation notes

The 2U rackmount unit measures 36 x 24 x 10 inches and weighs 40 pounds, so two-person lift or a server lift is standard practice. Slide rails are available on request and must be mounted before the chassis is seated. The PERC H730P RAID controller manages the twelve bays; cable routing is straightforward but verify the backplane matches your drive count before closing the lid. Firmware and BIOS are already updated to the latest stable release.

Pre-order checklist

Confirm your rack provides 2U of vertical space and sufficient depth for the 36-inch chassis plus cable management. Ensure the facility can supply two 1100 W power supplies on separate circuits. The integrated 10 GbE 562T dual-port adapter needs compatible switch ports and cabling. iDRAC9 Enterprise is licensed for remote management. Remember that drives are not included and maximum memory capacity reaches 3 TB if future expansion is planned.
