10 Gbps M.2 Enclosure for NVMe and SATA

This aluminium enclosure accepts a single M.2 SSD with M-key, B-key or B+M-key connectors in the 2280 form factor. It connects to a host computer through a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port and includes a dual-headed cable that provides both USB-C-to-A and USB-C-to-C plugs for broad device compatibility.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 limits and protocol differences

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface tops out at 10 Gbps, so an NVMe drive can reach a theoretical 1000 MB/s while a SATA drive is capped at its native 6 Gbps link, yielding about 480 MB/s. UASP and TRIM are supported to maintain consistent throughput and drive health, but the enclosure cannot overcome the lower ceiling of the SATA protocol itself.

Aluminium construction and thermal design

The all-aluminium shell uses CNC-cut stripes to enlarge the surface area, and an internal cooling vest wraps the SSD on all sides to conduct heat away from the controller and flash. Tool-free assembly lets you swap drives quickly, and the single-bay layout keeps the unit compact for desk or travel use.
