The Orico aluminium case turns a single M.2 SATA SSD into a portable USB 3.2 Gen2 6Gbps Type-C drive. It accepts B-key or B+M-key modules up to 4TB and needs no tools to fit them.

Who it suits and who it doesn't

Builders with a spare M.2 SATA stick who want fast external storage will find it simple. It cannot take M.2 NVMe, M.2 PCIe AHCI, mSATA or non-M.2 drives, so buyers needing those interfaces must choose a different enclosure.

Capacity and headroom

The enclosure supports up to 4TB of SATA flash and delivers 400 to 550 MB/s over USB 3.2 Gen2. UASP, TRIM and SMART are supported, and the drive sleeps after ten idle minutes to extend SSD life.
