The Solidigm D7-PS1010 is a 7.68TB U.2 15mm drive built for servers and storage arrays that need high-capacity flash in a standard hot-plug bay. It targets IT teams running read-heavy workloads such as content delivery, analytics or virtualisation where consistent throughput matters more than peak write endurance.

PCIe 5.0 x4 interface

The single specification that decides fit is the PCI-Express 5.0 x4 electrical interface combined with the U.2 15mm physical connector; the system backplane must provide both to reach the rated 14500 MBps sequential read and 10000 MBps sequential write. Without a Gen 5 capable slot the drive will fall back to lower speeds and the performance advantage is lost.

Thermals noise and power
