The Dell PowerEdge T430 arrives as a 5U rack system with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors running at 2.0 GHz, each offering 14 cores and 3.2 GHz turbo. It includes 32 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across four modules and a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy. The front bezel is included.

Check Rack Depth and Drive Count Before Ordering

Verify that your rack can accommodate a 5U chassis and that you have enough 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives to populate the eight trays, because no drives are installed. The system has twelve DDR4 slots and supports up to 384 GB, so plan memory expansion around the four occupied slots. Dual 1 GbE ports are provided by the integrated Broadcom 5720 controller, and iDRAC 8 Express handles remote management. Plastic feet are not included, so rack rails or shelves are required.

Hot-Swap Trays and Redundant Power Simplify

Eight front-accessible drive trays support hot-swap SAS or SATA disks, allowing replacement without downtime. The two 750 W power supplies are hot-swappable and share the load, so a single unit failure does not interrupt operation. The PERC H730 battery-backed cache protects in-flight writes during unexpected power loss. iDRAC 8 Express enables out-of-band monitoring and control over a dedicated network connection.
