It uses a Phison PS5016-E16 controller manufactured on a 28nm process with eight NAND channels and 32 CE targets. Toshiba BiCS4 96-layer 3D TLC flash and a 2GB DDR4 cache deliver sequential reads up to 5000 MBps and writes up to 4400 MBps.
The drive requires an M.2 2280 slot wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 and NVMe 1.3. A full-coverage copper heat spreader covers both sides of the PCB to dissipate heat from the controller and NAND. This integrated cooling frees the builder from adding a separate heatsink or relying on motherboard shields that may not contact both sides.
