SATA III practical limits

The drive runs on SATA Rev. 3.0 at 6 Gb/s and falls back to SATA Rev. 2.0 when the host only supports the older standard. Throughput cannot exceed the bus ceiling, so sustained transfers stay below the quoted 540 MBps read and 490 MBps write figures.
