384GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM kit for 13th Gen Dell PowerEdge

This 384GB kit contains twelve 32GB DDR4-2400 registered ECC modules built for Dell PowerEdge R430, R530, R630, R630 XL, R730, R730 XL, R730xd, R730xd XL, R830 and R930 servers. Each module uses a 2Rx4 dual-rank x4 organisation and runs at 1.2V. The kit is designed for 13th Generation rack servers that require registered ECC memory and will not work in desktop or laptop systems that only accept non-ECC unbuffered DIMMs.

Sustained load behaviour

Registered buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller, allowing all twelve modules to operate together at the rated 2400 MT/s without signal degradation during extended workloads. ECC circuitry detects and corrects single-bit errors on the fly, preventing data corruption during long-running compute or virtualisation tasks. Because speeds may be mixed but the system runs at the slowest installed module, consistent performance depends on populating matching 2400 MT/s modules across every channel.

Thermals, noise and power draw at 1.2V without

The modules operate at the standard DDR4 1.2V and have no heat spreaders, relying on the server's directed airflow for cooling. Power draw scales with the number of populated DIMM slots and the 2Rx4 density, but the low voltage keeps per-module consumption modest. No moving parts are present, so the memory itself adds no acoustic noise; overall system thermals and fan speed remain governed by the chassis design and CPU load rather than the DIMMs.
