The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server equipped with four Intel Xeon E7-8890 v4 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 24 cores. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 48 DIMM slots. The system includes a PERC H330 storage controller, quad-port networking with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management, four 1100 W power supplies, rails and a front bezel. It targets organisations running memory-intensive databases, virtualisation clusters or ERP workloads.

Build integration

The chassis provides four 2.5-inch drive trays for SATA or SAS devices and supports up to 24 hot-plug drives in total. Ninety-six DDR4 slots allow expansion toward a 12 TB memory ceiling. The H330 controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50 without an additional card. Quad-port 1 GbE and 10 Gb SFP+ networking is integrated on a daughter card, freeing PCIe slots for further I/O. Four redundant 1100 W platinum power supplies share the load. iDRAC8 Enterprise enables agent-free provisioning and remote console access.
