The GIGABYTE MZ33-AR0 is an Extended ATX server board built around the SP5 socket for single AMD EPYC 9004 or 9005 series processors with a cTDP up to 400W. It targets data-centre and high-performance computing deployments that need maximum memory capacity and PCIe 5.0 connectivity in a single-socket platform.
The board provides 24 DDR5 288-pin registered DIMM slots organised across 12 memory channels running at 4800 MT/s, enabling very large memory footprints for memory-bound workloads. Power delivery uses one 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin and one 6-pin ATX 12V connectors to support the 400W processor thermal design, while one CPU and five system fan headers allow active cooling management.
Seven MCIO 8i ports deliver a mix of PCIe Gen5 x8 and Gen4 x8 lanes plus SATA, supporting up to 16 SATA 6Gb/s devices alongside Gen5 NVMe storage. A single M.2 slot accepts 2280 or 22110 modules at PCIe Gen4 x4. Dual 10Gbps BASE-T LAN ports driven by Broadcom BCM57416 and a dedicated management LAN port handle high-throughput and out-of-band administration traffic.

Same family, different memory, cooler or clock — compare before you commit.
Align the processor triangle with the socket corner marker, lower the carrier frame, then torque the captive screws in a diagonal sequence to the specified pressure; skipping the diagonal tightening order can leave uneven contact.
The five system fan headers and single CPU fan header drive cooling fans that typically wear out before the board; the CMOS battery also needs periodic replacement.
The single processor socket supports a cTDP up to 400 W, so the VRM thermal ceiling and the 24 DDR5 slots running at 4800 MT/s become the first bottlenecks under continuous load.
