Upgrade from single-socket

Moving from a single-processor Gen8 server or a configuration with less than 512GB of RAM provides a direct jump to dual-socket performance and large memory capacity for virtualisation or database workloads. The twenty-four-bay chassis also removes the storage density limits of eight-bay or twelve-bay models. The jump is worth it when current hardware cannot accommodate the required VM count, memory footprint, or local drive count.

Verify rack depth, power feeds

The unit measures 36 inches deep, so confirm the rack enclosure provides adequate clearance for cabling and airflow. Two 800W power supplies require two independent PDU circuits for full redundancy. No drives are installed; select SAS drives or SSDs compatible with the P440ar controller to populate the twenty-four bays. Rail kits are available separately if not already present in the rack.
