The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 arrives with a single Intel Xeon Gold 5515+ running at 3.20 GHz across eight cores. Sixty-four gigabytes of HPE DDR5 Smart Memory are installed in two 32 GB modules at 5600 MT/s. Two 960 GB SATA read-intensive SSDs and an MR408i-o storage controller with 4 GB cache provide the boot and data layer. Dual 10 GbE ports from a Broadcom BCM57416 adapter handle network traffic. The chassis occupies a standard 2U rack height.

Expansion headroom for growing workloads

Up to eight PCIe Gen5 slots and two OCP 3.0 bays remain open for additional controllers, accelerators or networking cards. Eight small-form-factor drive bays support further hot-swap storage without shutting down. The single-socket design leaves a second processor socket available when compute demand increases. Redundant 1000 W titanium power supplies free up one unit for maintenance while the other keeps the system running.

Thermals and power in daily operation

Four hot-swap fans draw cool air through the front and exhaust it at the rear, maintaining stable temperatures under typical general-purpose loads. The titanium-rated power supplies operate at high efficiency across a wide load range, reducing waste heat and overall power draw. Fan speeds adjust automatically to workload, keeping acoustic output low in normal office or data-centre environments.
