Eight-bay 2.5-inch chassis for dense compute

The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 fits eight small-form-factor drives in a 2U rack frame. A single Xeon E5-2643 v3 at 3.4 GHz with six cores and 256 GB of DDR4 ECC memory delivers strong single-thread performance for database or virtualisation workloads. Remote management is handled by iLO Advanced.

Adds a second processor

The board accepts a second identical Xeon to double core count, and the DDR4 slots scale to 3 TB for large in-memory datasets. The P440 SAS controller manages RAID across the eight bays, so adding drives expands capacity without a controller swap. Dual 500 W power supplies keep the system running during a module failure.

Handles hundreds of virtual machines

With 256 GB installed the server comfortably runs dense virtualisation clusters or sizeable buffer pools. Memory headroom remains until the 3 TB ceiling, while the eight 2.5-inch bays limit raw storage to the number of physical disks. Integrated graphics and dual 10 GbE plus dual 1 GbE ports cover console and network needs without extra cards.
