ICY DOCK
Converts one 5.25" bay into four hot-swap 2.5" SAS/SATA drive slots plus a slim optical drive bay with a 40 mm cooling fan
The ToughArmor MB604SPO-B fits a single external 5.25" bay and accepts four 2.5" SAS or SATA SSDs and HDDs up to 9.5 mm thick. Heavy-duty steel construction is rated for industrial, military and medical environments. A single Slim or Ultra-Slim optical drive can also be installed in the same unit.
Each drive mounts on a removable tray that locks into the backplane, enabling hot-swap operation when the host supports it. Anti-vibration design and EVA foam spacers reduce mechanical stress in mobile or rack-mounted systems. The cage requires a SAS host connection for SAS drives and provides individual status LEDs per bay.
A built-in 40 mm fan and ventilation holes draw air across all four drives during sustained workloads. Fan speed can be adjusted to balance airflow against acoustic output in noise-sensitive deployments. Steel chassis and tray design dissipate heat without relying on a single high-RPM burst.
