HPE Z8 G5 2 TB DDR5 4800 kit

This 2 TB memory kit contains sixteen 128 GB DDR5 4800 registered ECC RDIMMs built for HP Z8 G5 and Z8 Fury G5 workstations. Each module runs at 1.1 V with a CAS latency of CL40 and uses a 4Rx4 organisation. The 288-pin form factor matches the server-grade DIMM slots in those platforms. IT teams use it to maximise memory capacity for virtualisation, simulation or large-dataset workloads.

ECC registered DDR5 4800 CL40

The single specification that decides fit is the DDR5 4800 registered ECC RDIMM standard with 4Rx4 rank and CL40 timing. Only systems that accept registered ECC DDR5 at this speed and rank configuration will initialise the modules correctly. Consumer desktop boards and unbuffered-memory platforms cannot use this kit. The 16-module count also requires enough populated slots in the target workstation.

Thermals and power in normal use

Operating at 1.1 V, the modules draw low power for their density and run without heat spreaders. Registered buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller, helping keep temperatures stable under sustained server workloads. Passive airflow in the workstation chassis is sufficient; no active cooling on the DIMMs themselves is required. Noise remains at the level of the system fans.
