The Sabrent EC-SNVE is a compact aluminium and ABS enclosure that accepts M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs in 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. Its tool-free sliding cover lets you swap drives in seconds, making it suited to technicians, content creators and engineers who move large datasets between workstations. No external power adapter is required because the unit draws power directly from the host USB port. It connects through a USB 3.2 Type-C interface for broad compatibility with modern laptops and desktops.

Passive cooling and bus power

The all-metal shell acts as a heatsink, dissipating drive heat without a fan so the enclosure runs silently during sustained transfers. Bus-powered operation keeps cable clutter to a minimum and eliminates the need for a separate mains adapter. Backward compatibility with USB 3.1 and USB 3.0 ensures the device functions on older ports, albeit at the lower speed limits of those standards. The aluminium construction also provides structural rigidity that protects the SSD during transport.

Fits M-key and B+M drives only

The enclosure supports M-key and B+M key M.2 modules while excluding B-key only SATA drives, so buyers must verify their SSD keying before purchase. Its ultra-slim profile slips into laptop bags or tool kits, freeing up bench space compared with bulkier dock solutions. The USB 3.2 link delivers up to 10 Gbps theoretical bandwidth, enabling sequential reads around 1000 MB/s with a fast NVMe drive. No driver installation is needed on Windows, macOS or Linux, letting you access data immediately on any supported host.
