1U dual-Xeon server with four 3.5" bays

This 1U rackmount system ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 processors, each running at 2.60 GHz with 14 cores. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory are installed across two DIMMs. A MegaRAID 9361-8i controller provides eight internal SAS 12 Gb/s ports with 1 GB cache and battery backup. Four hot-plug 3.5-inch trays accept SATA or SAS drives, and quad 10GBase-T ports handle network traffic.

Suits dense virtualisation

The dual-socket layout and 24 DIMM slots support up to 1.5 TB of memory for memory-heavy workloads. IPMI 2.0 with dedicated LAN gives full remote KVM and virtual media access. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies keep the platform running during a module failure. Buyers who need more than four 3.5-inch spindles or who require 2.5-inch bay density should look at a different chassis.

Four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays define storage capacity

Only four large-form-factor drives fit in the front, so total raw capacity is limited by the number of 3.5-inch drives you populate. The onboard MegaRAID 9361-8i supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across those bays. If the application demands more spindles or a different drive form factor, this 1U model will not accommodate it.
