The Synology RS422+ arrives as a fully assembled 4-bay unit pre-populated with four 4TB Synology Plus Series drives for 16TB of raw capacity. An AMD Ryzen processor and 2GB of installed memory run DiskStation Manager for file sharing, synchronisation and backup tasks. A pre-installed E10G22-T1-Mini adapter adds a single 10GbE RJ-45 port alongside two native 1GbE ports with link aggregation and failover support. The short 327.5mm depth fits standard 2-post or wall-mount racks without rails.

Passive cooling within 0 to 35 °C range

The 1U chassis relies on internal airflow to keep the Ryzen CPU and drive bays within the specified operating envelope of 0°C to 35°C at 5 to 95% relative humidity. Dual 1GbE links and the 10GbE adapter operate without additional active cooling hardware, so acoustic output stays low enough for office-adjacent rack positions. Power input accepts 100-240 VAC at 50/60Hz from the included IEC cord, drawing only what the four drives and mainboard require under typical workloads.
