1U Rack Server for Entry Workloads

The Dell PowerEdge R430 is a 1U rack server fitted with a single Intel Xeon E5-2603v3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz. It arrives with 16 GB of DDR4 memory installed across twelve DIMM slots, leaving room for expansion up to 384 GB. The chassis includes eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays and a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. A 550 W redundant power supply and four 1 GbE network ports complete the baseline configuration.

16 GB DDR4 with 384 GB Ceiling

Memory capacity tops out at 384 GB when both processor sockets are populated, using 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB DDR4 modules up to 2400 MT/s. The single installed CPU limits active channels to six slots until a second processor is added. Storage scales to 16 TB of raw capacity across the eight bays using SAS or SATA drives. Two PCIe 3.0 slots provide limited I/O expansion for additional networking or accelerator cards. The Matrox G200 graphics controller with 8 MB cache handles basic console output only.

iDRAC8 Remote Management Included

The integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller delivers out-of-band hardware monitoring, firmware updates and virtual console access without an operating system. Express licensing is standard; Enterprise features and 8 GB or 16 GB vFlash media are optional upgrades. A DVD-ROM drive is fitted for media-based installs. The package includes a power cable; rail kit, bezel, drive trays, keyboard, mouse and video cable are not supplied. No operating system is pre-installed.
