The card draws power directly from the PCIe slot so no extra power cable is required.

Vertical port layout and driver notes

Ports are oriented vertically on a board measuring 4.76 inches long with USB-A ports standing 0.71 inches tall, which prevents installation in 1U or 2U chassis and other compact enclosures. Windows 11, 10, 8, macOS 10.8.2 and newer, Linux and unRAID operate without extra drivers; Windows 7 and XP need the supplied RENESAS/VLI driver from the included CD.

Shared 10 Gbps bandwidth and compatibility limits

All eight ports share the single PCIe x1 Gen 3.0 or 2.0 link, so aggregate throughput cannot exceed the lane's 10 Gbps ceiling and actual speeds depend on each attached device.
