This ESTONE expansion card adds four USB-C and four USB-A ports to a desktop computer through a single PCI Express x1 lane. It targets builders who need more high-speed external connections for drives, peripherals or streaming gear without occupying additional slots. The card draws power directly from the PCIe slot so no extra power cable is required.

Vertical port layout and driver notes

Ports are oriented vertically on a board measuring 4.76 inches long with USB-A ports standing 0.71 inches tall, which prevents installation in 1U or 2U chassis and other compact enclosures. Windows 11, 10, 8, macOS 10.8.2 and newer, Linux and unRAID operate without extra drivers; Windows 7 and XP need the supplied RENESAS/VLI driver from the included CD.

Shared 10 Gbps bandwidth and compatibility limits

All eight ports share the single PCIe x1 Gen 3.0 or 2.0 link, so aggregate throughput cannot exceed the lane's 10 Gbps ceiling and actual speeds depend on each attached device. The card fits x4, x8 or x16 slots but Dell motherboards running Windows 10 or 11 may exhibit recognition issues. No low-profile bracket is supplied.
