Four-Port SATA 3.0 Expansion
The ESTONE PCIE24SATA adds four SATA 3.0 6 Gbps ports through a single PCIe x1 slot that also fits x4, x8 and x16 sockets. It is aimed at builders who need extra internal drive connections for storage arrays or backup volumes. The Marvell 88SE9215 chipset handles Port Multiplier FIS-based and Command-based switching. A low-profile bracket is included for compact chassis.
Passive Heatsink Cooling
An integrated heatsink draws heat away from the controller without a fan, so the card adds no audible noise to the system. Power is supplied entirely through the PCIe slot, keeping cabling simple and total draw low. The board complies with PCI Express 2.0 and 3.0 and is backward compatible with 1.0. SATA 3.0 ports also accept SATA 2.0 and 1.0 drives.
Sustained Multi-Drive Operation
Under continuous read or write loads across four drives the heatsink maintains stable temperatures without throttling. The controller supports booting from attached drives in non-RAID mode and can participate in software RAID when the operating system or motherboard provides it. Hardware RAID is not supported.
