Intel X299 chipset for Core X-series

This MSI PRO X299 PRO motherboard uses the Intel X299 chipset and LGA 2066 socket to support Intel Core X-series 10000, 9000 and 78xx processors. It provides eight DDR4 memory slots in a quad-channel layout with a maximum capacity of 256 GB. The ATX form factor fits standard workstation cases.

Sustained multi-GPU and storage bandwidth

Four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots operate at x16/x8/x16/x8 with a 48-lane CPU, x16/x4/x16/x8 with a 44-lane CPU, and x16/x4/x8/x0 with a 28-lane CPU. Two M.2 Key M slots accept 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 devices at PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA 6Gb/s. Six SATA 6Gb/s ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10, though SATA1 is disabled when a SATA M.2 drive occupies M2_1.

Dual LAN and high-definition audio

Networking combines a Realtek RTL8125-CG controller with an Intel I219V PHY. Audio uses the Realtek ALC1220 codec for 7.1-channel output with S/PDIF. The board has no onboard video, so a discrete graphics card is required. Only the motherboard and I/O shield are included.
